no. 208-209

Site: Hubbard Cave (a stretch of Highway 90 / 94 that is covered by Hubbard, Halsted, and Green Street as well as by a vacant patch of land owned by Pickens Kane Moving and Storage, and the City of Chicago)
Medium: acrylic, fabric, wood, and found objects, 3' x 4'
Date: July 2013
Description: no. 208 is the site – appropriated and rendered poetic through photographs that gradually reveal different elements of the site. Work no. 209 is a proposal for how the site might be altered – the wood elements representing the Highway and Halsted Street, the fabric a gently undulating landscape draped over these elements, the found objects larger than life sculptures, and the painted abstractions place holders for programs that have yet to be imaged.
